Artist Notes on this Piece In this piece, I reflect of the idea of cell memory surrounding reincarnation. The floating windows being other times of extreme soul development. The light window being a time of angelic like peace, happiness and gratitude, where as the dark window is a time of the lost soul. Even in the darkness the lost soul can see the light of hope and go toward evolvement. The crouched figure represents any of us but more specifically my late mother. She is exposed, vulnerable in a time without conscious memory of who she really is, as the etheric feathers of her ultimate possibility lay at her feet and flutter down from a past forgotten. Even on this plane there is darkness, but also there is beauty and light reflected in the void as is seen by the lights on the water in the back ground. We are neither good nor bad, we’re all suspended somewhere in the middle. |
